10 Effective Behaviors at a networking event:

1.Join the right groups – either in your own field or similar interests.
2.Arrive early, leave late – make sure you speak with everyone.
3.Know the culture of the group – do your homework about the group.
4.Get organized – bring plenty of business cards – wear your name tag.
5.Focus on each person – be a good listener – talk less.
6.Don’t push your card on someone – exchange cards with those you can do
business with.
7.Develop a conversation – find out more about the other person than just
talk about yourself.
8.Seek out value – schedule a coffee, lunch or another follow up visit with
those you can work with.
